STUDIES IN THEOLOGY -
Popular Christianity:
Genesis Thru Deuteronomy 5

Entries from most recent independent studies pertaining to Theology. ~ I have begun with modern/popular Christianity as it is accessible and is where my personal background comes from, as with many in modern American culture. ~ I examine it as observation, and further in comparison to ideas put forward in Proximity Gestation; On The Perspicacity Of Species

PROXIMITY GESTATION; ON THE PERSPICACITY OF SPECIES

I study independently. I have just completed my first philosophical composition. Satire is a magnificent form of communication. I am an ordained minister. As a brief over view of my current frame of mind. I am Un-Available, ladies - I have no interest in relationships at this point, and such is a decision made out of caring. Did someone mention a "plan?" Other Degrees and Certifications; "DOCTORATE" - "B.A." - "MASTERS" The counter doesn't function properly... so there!

SELF ADULATION PARADOX?

11/28/2006

In chapter 11:20, it eludes to yet another interesting suggestion pertaining to the Lord. This through stating in a third person sense (as if God were speaking) that the people, "rejected the Lord, who is here among you." Then, in the same context suggests that it (the word of God presumably) is referring to Moses. ~

Then directly following this it states that Moses responds to the Lord. ~

The suggestion that Moses may be the Lord is all the more interesting given that it is supposedly the Lord telling Moses to speak those words to the people. ~

It again seems as if there is some suggested embodiment pertaining to the idea of God itself within the context of the words to be spoken. ~

Such would establish nothing less than at least a perceived plurality - and further yet, even a partial diversity within such suggested embodiment. ~

As I continue reading, something even more remarkable surfaces pertaining to diversity. In 11:25, it depicts the Lord placing the spirit upon 70 others chosen, then further that they began to prophesy. Further it states that Moses actually promoted (wished more of) it.

This demonstrates a purposeful introduction of inconsistency - which then would become consistency on a different level. ~

In permitting the various perspectives as they prophesied - it most surely demonstrates a divergence from that contained point of focus (and Aaron) as well. The different elders and leaders as they prophesied - then introducing variations of/between/within their respective tribes. ~

This then easily being further observed (as noted) in the modern diversities within various nationalities pertaining to the Hebrew methods of worship. Even more in depth, such could be representative of even the diversities in modern forms of worship. Including more fanatical mutations of similar social/theological structures. ~

The progression of these diversions, as it were - most definitely comparable to the other books of the bible in concept even. Being various different voices then representing a whole - then again brought to the point of focus in regard to a single entity. ~

Even further yet is a pattern in progression when then considering the Apostles. Though, in a deeper sense within that progression (tendency toward pattern - perhaps cyclically) much more becomes apparent regarding symbolism and transference; Jacob was renamed by God to the title of Israel - he was also noted as being the son of God.

Then, as we take into account the introduction of Christ as the son of God and as a sacrifice - symbolically then - through that line of reasoning and connection, Israel is the sacrifice.

Further, sociologically, this tends to suggest that somehow Israel was born out of itself in the form of Christ being a product of that line of belief.

The son bearing the son of God from itself in that line of symbolism - symbolically birthing itself for the purpose of a sacrifice. ~

As previously pointed out, this could not happen again within the Christian belief structure without imposing a rather pronounced paradox. ~

Some might argue that this progression then suggests the body of Christ (Israel) as being God - which, as has been established in previous books and chapters - is not possibly the case given that Jacob won the name of Israel from God to begin with. ~

Further, this then implies that Israel possesses some feminine quality in having born forth - not only the son of God - but a symbolic representation of itself - and in that, Jacob.

A feat never to be repeated within the idea of Christianity! ~

Interesting that such a line of association(s) then suggests that Israel is of a female sort - given that Jacob was a man - and a man that was repeatedly duped by his son and his own wife. ~

Maybe he would have been better off with a shiksa? ~

Lucky Devil! ~

Such a consideration then adds other aspects to the Roman role in the crucifixion (of Christ and others) of Christ.

There were many Jews in that culture, which means firstly that they were conquered (the Jews) by the Romans to begin with - or they would not have been a part of the Roman empire at all.

Then symbolically (and inadvertently) doing the dirty work to carry out the much larger symbolism within their somewhat mundane (though quite brutal) punishment. ~

In 11:31, it states that the Lord sent a wind from the sea carrying quail three (3) feet deep.

This (the quail) was then spread around the camp to dry.

Drying meat out of doors requires an atmosphere which is more dry than that which produces dew.

It is described as the meat then making them sick - which seems as though the climate was not conducive to drying meats - it is stated as the Lord striking them with a plague for wanting meat from Egypt.

It is stated that the illness struck even while they were gorging themselves. ~

After burying the dead, it is sadi that the tribes moved to another location.
